Remember, that around 80% of a mobile phone's microwave emissions are absorbed by the head. Only shielding or distance to the phone can reduce their impact.
It should be mentioned, that no phone company has been able to prove that mobile phones are not damaging to people's health. They talk about thermal effects being minimal, while we are concerned about biological and physiological effects to our health. Pulsed microwaves in particular have been linked to DNA damage, leakage of blood/brain barrier, deformation of red blood cells, brain tumours.
The only completely safe mobile phone is one that is turned off.
Functionality
The shielding material is a synthetic mesh with silver thread woven into it. When wrapped around the phone completely, total shielding is achieved and the phone becomes inoperational. In the U-SHIELD F, the back is completely unshielded. This way, the head is protected from direct radiation, even though a small percentage of the microwaves emitted from the back will still reach the head.
In areas of limited reception, you will notice the shielding effect when using your phone. You may then choose to take the shield off (exposing yourself to maximum radiation), or preferably you should wait until you get better reception again.
Holes can easily be punched to allow earphone jacks to be plugged in. - We recommend not to use earphones/headsets without frequency arresters, like the EMR Blocker (available on our website).
The U-SHIELD can not be washed. If needed, you may clean it on the outside with a moist cloth and dishwashing detergent.
